- Do you need the installed Office apps, or just email and the web versions? This one decision splits most of the plans apart.

Every Microsoft 365 plan, and who it is for
Microsoft 365 Personal
For one person. You get the Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and 1 TB of OneDrive storage, tied to a personal Microsoft account. It is fine for a freelancer or a single owner, but it is not built for a company: no business email on your own domain, no admin control, and no way to manage staff accounts. Microsoft 365 for Business (Basic, Standard, Premium)
This is the right home for most businesses in Nepal. All three give you business email on your own domain (yourname@yourcompany.com), Teams, and OneDrive and SharePoint for shared files. The difference is what sits on top:
- Business Basic: email and the web and mobile versions of Office. No installed desktop apps. Good if your team mostly works in the browser and you want the lowest cost per user.
- Business Standard: everything in Basic, plus the full desktop Office apps installed on your computers. This is the plan most offices actually want.
- Business Premium: everything in Standard, plus real security and device management, including Microsoft Defender and the tools to control company laptops and phones. Worth it if you handle sensitive data or want to lock down lost or stolen devices.

Office 365 and Microsoft 365 Enterprise (E3 and E5)
For larger organisations, or any business with serious compliance, security, or identity requirements. E3 covers most enterprise needs. E5 adds the top tier of security, data protection, and analytics on top. If you are a bank, an INGO, a hospital, or a company with a real IT and security team, this is your range. Exchange Online, on its own
